Remember when I used to write a lot in this blog? Remember when there were recipes and funny stories, Found Porn, and the occasional pot-shot at bad comic books?
Me neither.
That's because evil evil Facebook has been taking up what little uninterrupted writing time I have! We're down to one usable computer at home, and Facebook is blocked at work (thanks!), so how else am I supposed to keep track of all those folks I went to High School and College and Choir Camp with but to keep checking Facebook when I can slip in front of C'pher's precious new MacBook? Somebody might have SuperPoked me!
What's worse is that Facebook is like some kind of evil evil gateway drug. My friends are exceedingly witty, so that means commentary on their various status updates and hilarious old mall-hair pictures... but it also leads to watching endless videos on YouTube and FailBlog. It also leads to checking out the various bands, TV shows, and odd foodstuffs my friends have become Fans of. And it also leads to straining your eyes VERY VERY HARD to see how people you went to High School with look in their tiny tiny profile pictures without actually having to add them as Friends.
This Facebook thing is exhausting! I need to get back to my Internet roots and spend hours posting to comics message boards.
And blogging! Jeez... how quickly I forget.
Have you been wondering why all the strange pictures of half-naked 20-something boys and leggy supervillians have been showing up in my Recent Photos list? Have you been wondering why my archives suddenly jumped from a few weeks to a year's worth of posts? No? Are you sure you haven't? Really... no?
Well -- in case I missed a 'yes' out there... the exceedingly clever Harold, who generously hosted my old blog, helped me move all my old posts from his server to Vox. Yay! I wrote there for just over a year beginning in February 05, but took an extended hiatus from blogging that I've only recently taken up again.
Now that I'm fully Voxed, I'm in the process of cleaning up those old posts. Moving pictures over, cleaning up dead links, making myself sound way wittier -- that kind of thing.
So feel free to check out my work in progress. I'm especially hoping the Jo-Tel boys (pictured here) will be doing the same thing with their own blog, as it'd be a shame to miss the story that goes along with the pictures that first inspired the Found Porn series. A damn shame indeed.
Jenny kept asking. Nicole said she missed it. Emily begged. Harold pleaded. Jeanne said "we've got to get you a blog!" Even Rebecca, who once swore that her dojo's website was the most she would do started posting. But still I resisted. Now it's been almost exactly a year since I've blogged. ::sigh:: Somehow, I remained unmotivated.
BUT... when Christopher started blogging... well, that was the gauntlet I needed.
Let's begin the biguine.
